It is a Heart warming story of grit and perseverance. A national level volleyball player's life took a complete turn when she was thrown off a train when she tried to stop a robbery. She was hit by a passing train and sustained serious leg and pelvic injuries. In a bid to save her life, doctors had to amputate her leg. But disability never got the better of her. Arunima lost her right leg but not hope and faith.

What is the true test of character? Is it the tenacity to claw your way out of a seemingly impossible situation, or the will and determination not to be bogged down by the adversities of life?

If it is the above mentioned traits, then young Arunima Sinha fits the bill perfectly.

This young 26-year-old, who battled for life after being thrown out of a moving train two years ago, is not only standing tall, but also has her sights set on climbing Mount Everest.

May 21, 2013 is a date that will be etched in her memory forever.

On April 12, 2011, Arunima Sinha lost a leg after she was thrown out of a moving train.

On April 12, 2013, Arunima was happy to leave behind the Summit of Island Peak (Height - 6160 metres). She was on her way up to the highest point on the planet.
